    Hi and welcome, anything rated for 700L and above.
    you can look at reed octo DC range or XP INT3000 upwards

    @supaD

    perhaps give us some more info on your system.. and other intended filtration you want to use?

    i usually recomend a skimmer for double the systems total volume but some of the skimmers seem to be more accuratley rated to the systems size.

    good skimmer ranges are

    aquamedic acone, reef octopus (preferrably with DC pump) JNS, and there are a host of others out there..

    perhaps indicate what your budget is and we can go from there?

    Well my tank has a 3ft sump with diff grades of filtration from, oyster shells to shingle.
    My over flow has oyster shell in it, I have been running my tank like this for 3 months and seem to be working fine.

    I don't want to pay an arm and leg for the skimmer. I haven't realy priced any so wat price range am I looking at?

    ok some pointers feel free to research what i am telling you rather than taking my word for it

    but id remove the shingle and shells from your sump, they will ultimatley become a dirt trap and are all biological filtration mediums

    the very same process (biological filtration) takes place on the rock within the main display.

    for the sump configuration i would suggest as follows

    1st chamber = skimmer
    2nd = LR on eggcrate with good flow over it + heater
    3rd = return pump

    simplier is better..

    perhaps post a pic

    price range of skimmer will depend on system volume so at 700lt id recomend looking at a skimmer in the R2500 - R4500 price range for optimal skimming.. look in the second hand section... you get awsome bargains there...

    i see you also from east london... good to have you on here...

    I will look into my sump setup. I saw a boyu skimmer in pe for 1100 at the one pet shop and the guy working there said its the perfect size for my tank. How is that brand of skimmer? Wen I figure out how to put pics on I will put a pic on

    Unfortunatley those skimmers arent very good. With a skimmer generally price dictates performance. But the exception to the rile as skimmers such as bubble magnus. Do some research before you buy
