Skimmer popped

Hallo

I just heard my skimmer popped and I could see the smoke in the chamber

can the bump be replaced? its the Bubble Magus 3.5
 
most definatly you can.....is it under warranty??? where did you get it

they awesome skimmers....never heard of any of there pumps let go before

we in durban have sold em for over 2 years...not one skimmer pump has had an issue.

but i know the importer so if you have hassels arranging parts from where you bought it....give us a shout and well get it sorted for you super quick....
the sp 1000 pump the skimmer takes is the same as the rock 1000 pump...just impellor is a pinwheel...so spares not a issue

just saw the link with that picture now aswell

looks like you had grit in the impellor as you can see the one section is worn down qite hectic.......obviously that wore through and caused the seal to go on the electrics to get wet.......

is impellor still okay???

but like i said earlier ....easy to fix...just get the rock 1000 pump.....and swop out impellor....will cost you about R 350 if your skimmer is out of warranty and you have the old impellor intact

the crack runs the entire length of the housing the black mark you see is the burnt plastic

the impeller seems fine, its not bent and the magnet has no damage on it

I don't know about the warranty the skimmer is over 1 year old
 
then its a easy fix.....you need a bubble magus rock 1000 pump and swop the new normal impellor with your impellor

like i say that pump will cost you about R 350.00
 
sure....courier charge is R 150

otherwise call @bryan at jungle aquatics and ask him as im sure he will stock

but if he doesnt have, i can help for sure
