    Hi all,

Tank 7 weeks old and now skimmer is over flowing allot, the skimmer lid pops off from over flow. Before this happened skimming was fair and but not great.

I tried restricting air flow by clamping air intake pipe which has stopped the overflow problem. I'm just worried that my skimming capacity and ability is now restricted. See pics below.

Sorry cant see what skimmer this is but there should be a valve somewhere that you can adjust the water height in the skimmer. If you already have this on full open your skimmer could be sitting to deep. Then try put some egg crate underneath to try raise it

    It's a Reeftek Ts1
Not sure if there is a valve, this thing is new to me. Tried looking but too cramp inside the sump. Will the valve be on the pump?

The pipe on the side adjusts the hight of the water so if your collection cup is filling up to quickly then lower the pipe or lift the skimmer with eggrate or a small stand.

do like @Tiger eye suggests or try and lift up the skimmer a bit higher usualy few centimeters will be enough. you can put something underneath as long as its flat and smooth and not too heavy

Maybe I will go 30mm higher. It's still filling up just a little quick. I just find it odd that the skimmer worked fine at that level for the first 6 weeks

Rather lift it higher. You can always pull the pipe longer out to lift the water level inside the skimmer. Remember that when you have a power cut the water that drains from the DT cases the water level in the sump to be higher when the power comes on.
