not sure if there would be a need to turn your skimmer off, seen a number of guys with dosing pumps keep their skimmers going 24/7

I've Also seen Adee here on the forum turn off his skimmers at night, not sure if he still does it and for what reason, but it should be fine whilst dosing. You may at the end of the day lose like 20% of the dosed dosage to the actual skimmer, if that...

hey JDV - i have been dosing with Stability - and the skimmer running continuosly. Just a thought, if you did not have curing rock, ie. with dead stuff on it, then you would not find skimmate in the skimmer. I put a few live things on Sunday evening and had some skimmate yesterday during the day...so its only after the increase in bio-load, will you find the diff from the skimmer.

@Clownfish9906 thanks for the info I have been doing the same, started my tank on Thursday night with dead rock, I got about 3kg of live rock on Saturday to seed them received some skimmate on Sunday morning. Is it normal for the live rock to turn brown? Looks like the algae on it is dying.
