Stop the flow to the skimmer and switch off. If the return flow is 100% through the skimmer then make sure there enough in tank circulation until the skimmer is sorted.

Thanks Nemo, we tried that, turned on and off. Stopped flow, made sure everything was plugged in properly, but no joy.
When the skimmer gets turned on, the water level fills up to the neck but then doesn't bubble and it leaks out the top of the black nozzle that controls the air flow.

    Lost.....

Post pic...is it external skimmer? I assume it's then around venturi but need pic to be sure..If it's external and around venturi I used pratley 2 part epoxy with some success around outside base of venturi valve. It should not block airflow

It's not a case of needing putty, it's leaking out the hole that controls the air flow.

I'm in CT so not at the tank so I can't post a pic.

What is the urgent part? The skimmer leaking water draining the tank or if the skimmer is switched off and flow through stopped all is OK till the skimmer can be sorted?

Bit of both really, how long can the tank survive without the skimmer - it should be ok overnight I would think?
Skimmer is off now otherwise it'll just leak out all night

I just don't understand why it's leaking and I'm not there to see it so feeling a bit helpless.Never had this problem before.

As long as there is circulation and there is heaters controlling temperature all should be OK till your skimmer can be sorted.

If it's beyond repair, I've got a spare TS3 in excellent condition. Make me a decent offer and it's yours..
