    Hey guys,

My tank has been running lekker from the word go. Keeping up with parameters.
4 Months down the line i'm battling with my skimmer.
When i look at the cup, it's full of "almost clear" water (slightly green). Apposed to the sludgy dirty green. Ok so it's filling faster than it should, but when i clean the cup & place it back, the bubbles are at the right level. 12 hours later, i'm back to the same point.
What's causing the bubbles to rise intermittently like this ?!

    ;) My pride & joy: ;)

i see your bio load is not high have you tried readjusting the skimmer setting? or what about lifting the skimmer a little it sounds as though its a little deep in the water...

Tried lifting it, guess it needs to go a bit more. Don't understand cause it's been working perfectly. can't adjust it anymore either. Will definitely try to lift it ! Thanks Lesley !

Just sounds like the bubble level is too high in the skimmer

it could be.. perhaps setting the outlet level 5mm lower will make a difference. but you wold need to adjust and wait and see then make further adjustments if not right..

Agreed, your skimmer is in too deep and you maybe need to drop your bubble level in the skimmer. You can also take the pump apart and give the needlewheel and internal housing a clean as this can also affect the performance

Hi bud try lifting your skimmer or pump I had great results doing this with my AM SL 1000 I know you got a different skimmer to mine but it might work for you to especially if the pump is a ventri pump the one with a air hose anyway good luck hope you fix the problem

Ur bioload might be to little so not much to clean, in the beginning it would be the cycle etc causing skimmate

what could be happening is the venturi gets pinched by the water pressure thus not allowing air to be suchked in but rather more water so the level rises within the body of the skimmer. we actually have little air adjusters on the newer skimmer so that you can manipulate the air/water intake to more properly fine tune your skimmers bubble size and water level..

by lifting the skimmer you reduce the pressure on the enturi's airline tube allowing more air..
