    Hi everybody,

I have always wanted a six line wrasse and I am looking to add my last fish to my tank.

I have heard stories that they eat peoples inverts? I have a pom pom crab, emerald crab and a cleaner shrimp. Is this true??

    thanks

Nice fish - but I have heard, seen and experienced with my little terror you won't be able to add any similar looking or similar size wrasse. They become impossible to catch as well ......

Eating inverts - nope haven't had any of that

don't know how true that is, other species of wrasse maybe but not the cleaner IME. Mine was fine with all my inverts...

Think long term ... There are some very colorful nicer small wrasses :) I know I fell into the six line wrasse trap. They cheap they readily available and cute. Once you add that's it.

There are two i just don't know the names :( both my six line killed when I put into my tank:

    1. Has a brown rust red body with a bright yellow thick line down its back - mostly comes in the Kenya shipments beautiful.

    2. @bryan always has them they basically look like a Picasso Rainbow drawing all beautiful colors but in no real patterns :)

Should be fine with inverts, but as others said the aggression is sometimes a problem.

Can't go wrong with fairy and flasher wrasses. Peaceful, showy and safe with pretty much all inverts.

I had a sixline wrasse in my very first tank...
What i can tell you is that they LOVE ambipods & copepods!!!
But that is the only inverts they will eat as far as i could ever see!

They will eat inverts smaller than them.
Have one in my pony tank and he is doing a great job to help the ponies keep the pod population under control.

Sixline wil eat small crustaceans such as pyramidellid snails (clam parasites), urchins, and commensal flatworms. The Six Line Wrasse is also known to feed on unwanted pests on live rock, such as bristleworms. And also small pest on sps....
