check the water temp and salinity if both clowns were affected there must have been a drastic change in water parameters

    Ammonia - 0
    nitrite - 0
    Nitrate - 0
    Salinity dropped from 1.025 - 1.023
    P.H - 8.3

My corals and all my other fish seem to be 100%.

I did have a problem with ich a couple of days ago, but all seemed to be fine the last 2 days.

If he still eats...feed him well...soak food in garlic juice....if he doesnt eat...then your only hope will be to count on meds working, but in my experiece, when a clown looks that bad, and has stoppped eating...hes on his way out....:(

I started dosing metronidazole and vitality and garlic guard. As all fish got infected. The black clowns had brooklynella, i tried, but they did not make it. All fish look healthy and much better, i don't see any evidence of disease today, but the metronidazole does stress out the fish a bit.

metronidazole is working like a dream, and it doesn't effect my corals or invertebrates.

That looks like it might be Brooklynella, the skin coming off is a signature of the disease. I hope for your part it isn't Brook, as there is a very good possibility of losing the whole tank if this is the case. The only thing that will work against it is formaline (brandname Myxazin). Not a reefsafe med though. My brother's tank got wiped out like this, all 34 fish dead within a month. Have you added any new fish recently (angelfish perhaps)?

It might be something else (hopefully it is), the Metronidazole is mostly for bacterial infections though, so should help with secondary infections. Just keep a close eye on the rest of the fish, and be prepared to act if some of the other fish shows the same symptoms.

Oh, and it does spread very quickly, so from your description of it happening overnight, it also points to possibly being Brooklynella.
