    Hi

I have a 560L tank and purchased the Sicce Voyager 10 (2 x combo with Wave Surfer), however it has been difficult to arrange anything in the tank due to the flow rates of the pumps, and since they are not variable speed i cant change the flow rates.

I have been thinking of upgrading to the Maxspect Gyre 130 or 150.

    Any comments?

I have had the Voyager V8's for 6 years with no hassles. They are awesome and last. What are the issues you have? Are the blowing your substrate around? If so, try pointing them a little more towards the water surface perhaps?

Did you put in the flow distribution clips on the front?

I forgot about those. They broaden the flow so that it is not so direct.

I have 2 V7's and found that they are quite strong. Didn't know how I was going to get around this but then eventually decided to try something. I mounted them about half way down the sides of the tank. Then I directed them upwards to blow about to the half way of the tank. To my surprise I got a nice "Gyre" type flow which alternates now from one powerhead to the other. Also no settled food on the substrate it stays longer in the water column plus no substrate blowing everywhere.

I agree @NJH. I am just glad I did it because these pumps are bullet proof and really like them.

They really are bulletproof. I have replaced my Jeboa wavemakers at least once each. The Sicce's just keeps going and going. As I said 6 years and still going strong.

Still have 3 Jaboa's in my tank in addition to the Sicce's but definately prefer the Sicce's.

Just to replace the impellers is a bit pricey but well worth it at the end of the day.

I had to change both a couple of months ago due to the magnets splitting and then 3 weeks later my tank crashed. Still keeping them though because they are like gold to me. Even BRS speaks highly of these pumps.

I have not yet had the magnets split. Did not know that was an issue.

I saw my powerheads was vibrating a bit more than usual. When I took them apart I noticed that the magnets were splitting. They still work even like that but I decided to buy 2 new ones instead just incase.

Thanks. Good to know. Will keep an eye out for it. I do strip and clean every few months. So far so good. Hope my luck lasts.

You can set it. Mine is set to 20 seconds at a time.
