I have a clownfish along with a yellow headed goby, who seems extremely shy.

He hides from everything and I orginially thought that he escaped from my tank!

Will he change his behaviour at some point or should I accept that he's a recluse?

No that is their nature, they will live under a rock and only come out to grab some food and thats it. If its a small tank try re arange the rock work so that he has a happy home but you can still keep an eye on him. They are truely stunning fish
