From personal experience these guyz don't play well with other Shrimps, if ure going to house a large group of these in a Reef "I Personally" would reconsider unless you remove your existing shrimps and small fish. They are very aggressive in a group, and tend to rip the other shrimps apart and try to eat smaller fish (Seen with my own 2 eyes). And there AKA are Ghost Shrimp from our coastal shores.

If ure still ademant on housing them, house about 3 and c how it goes. Any more could cause a riot...

I have seen those in KZN, they seem to live in groups in rock pools and come out at night, thanks for the ID Storm, almost bought a few back with me once!

Damn, gangster shrimp! The only decent shrimps that I have seen in rock pools actually are Bumble Bee Shrimps (have yet to come across a CBS). Have also seen quite a few pistols and Saron (I think) Shrimps. So, these guys might be ok if you don't get a big group?

Yes, larger groups tend to cause problems. I posted a link which gives detailed information. Check it out. PS: Do not let the "FreshWater" part fool you. Its the same thing...

Thanks for the link, this is the same as the Oriental Shrimp in Two Oceans book, right? Have seen reddish and greenish ones before...

Yes you get the Ghost like shrimps with Redish/Grenish streaked lines. But they never seem to last long as the smaller Ghost Shrimp where talking about tend to eat them... (And yea another name aswell is Oriental Shrimp, Each region seems to call them by a differant name although there basically the same species)

Sorry no ID on it. Very common in our waters though!
If they are to be kept with Coral bandit shrimps, the Coral Bandits will kill them. Coral Banded aka Boxing shrimps, so that will tell you what they are capable of ;)

Mekaeel these Ghost Shrimps ripped off the leggs and arms of my CBS (Both of them) o_O. Had to give them away, or whats left of them anyways. I think the mayor problem with them comes into effect when they are in Riot Mode +/- 5-10.

No im totally serious, they ganged the CBS and pulled off the legs and arms. I kid u not this is all from personal experience. They would even tackle tiny 3-4cm Sargent Mayor Damsels (Little Devils Who Cause Lots of Greef) and even a LionFish I had.
