Shrimp ID please

    Hi,

    Please ID this shrimp please.
    Think it might be a marbled shrimp but not sure as the coloring looks different.

    I can see it, looks like a marbled shrimp to me.

    Yep, Saron/marbled shrimp. Coral munchers. Looks like he's already snacking on your zoas in the pic.

    OK, did think it was a marbled shrimp.
    Pity its not reef safe.

    Got it in a rock pool in Port Shepstone.

    Not sure if its already snacking on the zoas. Was just added into my quarantine tank. Moved away 10 min later and been in hiding since.

    They're pretty common locally. I've seen them in green, brown and purple colour variations. Pretty interesting in a FO tank, but they eat quite a range of corals (especially softies) and also attack smaller shrimp.

    That's unfortunate actually. One of the more interesting shrimps I have seen. Still cool none the less.
