    How are gas prices in South Africa? And what's the weather like? I'm thinking of moving... I could be a lawyer in South Africa, just like Ghandi! ;) Gas prices are so high here, a car that ran on beer might be cheaper...

    What a gentleman, but in passing move to SA, lots of work available, keep my tank going, you get free lodging / board (is that correct)?

    i wouldnt expect anything less :) great to hear she's doing well.

    i run a farm kindergarden now, 8 little unns under 2 (gets a little manic) but my 1.8m is by far the best investment ive ever made. as soon as tears start from a fall or whatever i whip them off to chat with the sailfin and yellow tangs, its amazing how fast they stop crying and stare in wonder. every kid needs a tank to watch! :)

    South Africa is Beautiful no matter what people say - We have good weather - cost of living not too high compared to our income and no major natural disasters. If you feeling skittish then just stock up on the pepper spray and a stun gun:lol:

    Definitely. More parents should be informed of this phenomenon... aquariums hypnotize babies!

    Some people have scoured the globe looking for paradise and never found it... Others stayed right here not knowing that they were actually living in paradise...

    Now its your chance to come discover paradise... We not known as Sunny south Africa for nothing...

    And if you compare the price of Petrol (or gas - which we incidentally use to fire up our gas barbecue/braai with) that its actually quite cheap compared to teh rest of the world.

    You will find some real interesting things here.

    • Our reefers are the friendliest pic-a-holics on the planet;
    • We generally are honest people - Unless you a politician;
    • Lawyers are not discriminated against like in USA;
    • Our biggest city is the 2nd highest Metropolis in the world;
    • Snow is something we mostly see in pictures;
    • Trench coats we have no uses for (except for the odd "Flasher");
    • We have the big 5 on land and all the rest in the oceans;
    • You can scuba in warm water (east coast) or cold water (west coast);
    • We all speak a different language... 11 of them actually... hehe;
    • We're known as the rainbow nation - our flag should be an example;
    • You will find plenty of "Red-Necks" here... in and out of town;
    • You will feel right at home when you encounter traffic jams;
    • Our women are the most beautiful in the world..... (Some even do reefing)
    Now beat that.....:tt2:

    I have been around , seen a few places overseas.. SA is the best by far.

    Unfortunatly I dont live close to the coast, there we have J-bay (jeffries Bay) were the worlds top surfer come every year to surf our waves, and the worlds highest bungee jump.. on the Van Stadens Bridge

    Up the coast, we have Cape Town, Blue-Berg Beach, Knysna and Stellenboch.. The world drinks our wines, they come to see Knysna and the rainforrest there.. They come to dive with the jumping Great Whites, See the Seal Island and visit the prison where Nelson Mandela was held..

    Inland we have the Karoo.. Its dull and flat, but farmers live their - one of the only places in the world where you can still talk to a man and he will invite you for a coffee, almost insisting on it, and you can feel safe.

    In the Karoo we have "Verneekpan" , Were they world comes to break the land speed records... it use to be a salt pan, well a few thousand years ago anyways.. The closest "gas" filling station is a mere 300Km away... It is so open there, you can actualy see the world curve, and the entire Milky way is visible at night!

    Then we have Jo-ies and Pretoria !! The trading mekkas of SA.. Traffic is always a nightmere, and the taxis dont make it any better, but we all get use to it eventually!These cities never sleeep.. but everyone is happy!

    I do live close to the Lowveld, and their is no place like it. You have the Grand Canyon - we have God's Window. Grand Canyon Looks a bit dull, God's Window is the greenest view you will ever see. It looks like a painting, no wonder they call it God's Window, Its a heavenly view!

    A few Km (miles) from there we have Hazyview, then We have The Kruger National Park.

    This only touches on some places, its not even a 1/100 of whats in SA.. There is no place like this..yes we have a few problems , what place doesn't? Once you live here, you wont even be botherd by it..
