    Hi guys

There is a white forgspawn at my LFS that I have been watching for a few weeks, it looks healthy enough and expands hugely during the day. My wife is convinced its the most beautiful coral she has ever seen :p however I'm not sure if this is normal? Do euphyllia bleach in the same manner as anemones? In fact, it's not really pure white, more a very light cream colour.

The coral has been in the shop a while and as I visit fairly often I can see it has not deteriorated at all. Again, to me the coral seems healthy and happy however I want to make sure I am not buying something that is bleached.

    Thanks

This is my quiet time. Grandma is asleep, horses are about ready for lights out, and brine is bubbling everywhere!

The babies are doing good, thank you! I'm having a hell of a time keeping up with the food supply!

    the short answer is no.
but having said that if you are willing to acclimate it slowly and look after it then yes.
add it to the bottom of the tank for a few days then move it upwards closer to the light and the color should return. you might need to feed it it every second or 3rd day. and after a few weeks should be fine

I too had a white Frogspawn for over a year, dunno about bleaching, as all my corals were well looked after

If you do buy it, give it some special care and attention initially, just in case it is bleached. Logic tells me it is bleached, but stranger things have happened in this hobby. Did you notice if it had any colour on the tips or is the whole thing white?

Tell the LFS you want a discount as the coral is bleached and there is a risk it may not survive.

youve been in UK too long and gotten used to dealing with those LFS's. do you really think a SA lfs is gonna do that? especially one thats selling its as a white frogspawn and not a cream thats possibly bleached. but i like your optimism, lets hope they go for the discount:)
