    You could firstly get rid of the ceramic rings.

    This is my new tank,my old sump never had a proper dsb.Pete came to me today and said he's gonna help me with a complete new sump with only a dsb.The stuff in my new sump ( Pic Above ) was in my old sump witout a DSB.

    Are you going to combine the middle two compartments to make your DSB?

    Yes we are,and also putting another DSB tank on the left side of my cabinet.What do u think ???

    Sounds good. You could also make your return chamber a little smaller to make more place for your DSB. Your display looks great btw.

    why not post a pic of your plan ?

    do you intend running any macro algae or an ATS perhaps?

    Neil,please tell me whats the diff.. between macro algea and ATS.Im still new to this all,i bought a old tank with the goodies inside it.

    well macro algae is a type of sea weed..... using a light in the sump we encourage this to grow and remove the nutrients out of the water ....

    an ATS is similar but is algae that we encourage to grow on a surface, Mudshark has just started a great thread on this, have a look at it, very informative
