Hey guys!!!!
Once I have tried to get as much for the scratches out of this little cube I wish to set it up. Looking at a sps with 2 or 3 fish.

Just want to know should I use 1x 250w 20 000k and 2x T5 10 000k
or 1x 250w 10 000k and 2x T5 20 000K.

or go all the way and just go MH???????

Hey kalkwasser, im also planning a tank about 160 litres. Im going to be using 1*150W MH 10k and 2 *20K T5's. So why dont you go with 1* 250W 10k And keep your T5's 20k.

well do. here is the plan for my sump it going to be 600x600x450 tank is 600x600x600.

What do you guys think???

I would consider losing the baffles, they just take space away from your DSB IMO

DSB before skimmer

Hi Kalkwasser - Looks great. Quick Question ?

I see that your skimmer feeds before the DSB and then returns after it. Is this crticial -I ask since my external DSB is fed and returns into the same chamber as my Skimmer and return pump. I cant really change things around - Long Story:p

I think the only difference is that less water will flow over the DSB if the outlet of the skimmer is after the DSB (in the return).

Loose the baffles. Why, you skimmer is going to drop bubbles on top of the return pump anyway...

If bubbles an issue, put last glass at a 70degree angle towards the DSB. Then the water will run down to the return pump instead of splashing down. Less bubbles,

Or just keep you level in the return chamber 1cm or so lower than the rest of the sump. that way there is now Vic Falls thing going on there

Did you know it is not easy to fine 2000 sand paper I have been to my local hardware, mica, Regal spares, Midas and some other hardware next door to Midas. No one has.
Going to try Auto and General next.

Yeah the idea is to slow down the flow over the DSB.

Did not get to drill this week end. But here is a pic of the tanks.

New Idea: the plan here is to allow the water longer flow time over the DSB.
The plumbing and lighting will be the same as above.

The drawing is a birds eye view

wouldnt a mh be overkill? surely 4 20w t5s and 2 engery savers would suffice?
