Hi guys. What is your opinion about the seneye versus test kits?

Very nice gadget, but limited in what it can test... For me... Not an option.
Would rather save the money & get a real aquarium controller with probes...

Anyhow. Test kits last me +- 1.5-2 years for nitrate phosphate calcium magnesium & ph. Alkalinity lasts me +-10-12 months.
Works out a lot less than a seneye & gives you actual value for that specific time to make dosing easier, & doesnt give any perameters of value to me. (Need at least calcium, & alk...)

Thanx. Apparently (saw on the sight yesterday) it tests NH3, ph, water levels, temp, can't remember what else now. Is there a link to these controllers that you are talking about? Would like to take a look to see what my options are?

I understand what you are saying Visser. What bothers me about the test kits (and this might sound stupid) is sometimes the colours are so extremely close that I really cant see at what level it is and them Im afraid that I dose incorrectly because I read it incorrectly.

No matter which aquarium controller you choose, they can not test the important stuff like alk, calcium, magnesium, nitrate etc. It can only do PH and the seneye can do ammonia which is hardly ever tested apart from initial startup.
