I have a seio controller with two seio pumps for water circulation in my display - around 450l. What would be the ultimate setting on the controller? You can set the timer to switch between Lo and Hi from a a few seconds to 30 minutes. I have MH lights, 4 x T5 actinics. A few smaller SPS's higher up in the tank, a few LPS's and quite a number of softies lower down.

    Thanks
    Chris

    Hi Chris,

I would suggest shorter time intervals (that creates a more random flow pattern IMO). The power of the setting will depend a lot on where you aim the powerhead as the SPS will respond well to the irregular flow where as the LPS & softies obviously wont like it that much.

I have my Tunze's aimed at full power over the reef to acccomodate SPS and the water is then "bounced / deflected" to the lower part.

Hope this makes sense - You bight have to experiment a little

    Thanks Frans

Are you talking seconds? Say switch between hi and lo every 3 seconds, or more like every 1 or 2 minutes?

Apologies Chris, I should have been more specific...yes seconds, the shorter interval (seconds) = lekker flow

    Great!

Will do that tonight and see how the corals react. Current setting is 30 minutes!
