securing of giant Rhodactis

    I have a rhodactis which keeps getting blown around the tank and no matter where I put it, it gets blown around, how can i secure it to a rock without damaging it? Thanks

    The best method I have found is to place a netting over the shroom. The same netting you get when you buy onions and stuff. Then just secure the shroom inside the netting over the rock you want the shroom to be on. Secure the mesh with elastic bands...

    I have an old onion bag would this be safe to use? or could it contaminate the water?

    That should work fine, B-Rad - as long as you rinse the onion bag very well before using it in your tank.

    Yup needs to be very well washed and rinsed. Personally i would not chance it JB. Onions and produce are often sprayed with insecticides which may have an impact. It might be better to snip up an old torn fish net for a once off solution. I have never used an used onion bag B4 because of this possibility.

    Cool idea but if you really want to use this - from a good packaging shop one can buy a roll of this "vegetable" netting for like R20 and then you can have clean netting - used to buy this and roll them to make "cheap" bio balls before....

    i just used a rubber band for all my mushrooms and it worked a bomb just dont tie it too tight.

    Get some bridal mesh. Works the same as the onion bag
