Please can someone explain to me the best method of securing and sealing a tank fitting to a piece of glass. I have four of them and I want to make sure I only do it once. Any help will be appreciated.
    Regards

I used the obvious silicone....works for me...and also easy to remove...
I put silicone and tighten and then run my finger on the edge to make a nice seal.
You could also use it with the rubber gasket that comes with it...works great aswell

Ridwaan, apologies for the late response, thanks for the feedback. The main reason for the post was that I know silicone does not bond to plastic or pvc that well, so I wanted to make sure that there were no secret tricks involved to improve the bonding and sealing.

the silicone will bond, but make sure you place a layer between the glass and ring, it will create a pressure seal. the bulkhead should have a foam ring for the inside, and i used silicone on the outside

You can buy from Idol Marine if they have in stock, otherwise Astore in Boksburg,
Controlled Irrigation at Greenstone, and Poly Pipe Systems in Meadowdale near Makro. There are obviously other suppliers, but Those are the ones closest to me. They also sell all the valves and fittings as well.
I doubt if you will get black PVC piping, Idol sometimes have dark grey in stock.

Black pvc can be found at some pool shops.
