True, but sea hares don't do well in high-flow aquariums, bright lights and with pumps or pump-intakes in a tank... I tried once, many years ago, to keep one in my sump. After two days it went MIA, and I have never seen it again.

Perhaps I was just unlucky, but I would advise caution if anyone is considering getting one just to fight cyano.

Sea hares fight cyano is a first for me.

We used to keep them in our systems to control brown algae, but with lower nutrition and PRODIBIO in all our coral aquariums we do not need them any more. Come to think of it we did not have Major problems with cyano in systems with sea hares in it at that time, only them bumping of small coral specimens. Pumps and flow was never a problem. Water movement was 8 to 15 times the volume. But them getting into the pumps, they were placed high up so no experience regarding sea hares and pumps.

BUT will experiment with flow rates, pumps & MOST IMPORTANTLY syano and give feedback after results are in.
