Hi Werner - please wait for Leslie Hempel to comment. He knows quite a lot of glass, as he used to work with glass a lot.

You can polish glass, without fish in the tank, but its an arduous process and needs proper equipment. Easier to replace the glass.

I tried to buffer out my scratches on my 1.8 meter by 600 by 600. It wasn't very succesfull. I didn't even faid the scratch a little. I think my glass is tuffend so it's nearly impossible. How big is your tank if it's very big then it must be tuffend so the buffering wont work! To hide my scratch marks I moved the actinic lights to the front and the daylihgts to the back. The only way now that I see the marks is when I naerly put my face against the glass:lol:. Try that maybe it will workfor you to...

Ya it's the problem if you work so hard on your tank and everything looks amazing and then when you sit you see thousands of scratches and you dont want to empty the tank because something will always die... Good luck with the tank further on and keep us posted!!!

If your tank is only 200L I would replace the glass. You can get a paste to polish the scratches out but you still going to have to drain the tank. It's better to just replace the glass as polishing takes long and it just replaces the old scratches with smaller less visible ones...
