    Hi Guys,

I recently bought more rock from a guy that was looking to shut down his system and ended up rescuing his fish as well... his system was poorly maintained and in a bit of a state.

All the fish are a lot happier now and I have removed two bullies out of the equation... basically he had the following:

    - Scopus Tang
    - 3 Yellow Tail Damsel's
    - 1 African Damsel (Bully No 1)
    - 1 VERY LARGE Maroon Clown (Bully No 2)
    - 1 Bi-Color Angel
    - 1 Fisheri Angel
    - 1 Scooter Blennie (Gave him to a mate of mine)

Anyways, the Bullies who have been exiled to the pet shop for resale were terrorizing this poor Scopus Tang and have completely demolished some of his fins... (As seen in the pics below) and his scales on either side are damaged as well...

Apologies for the poor quality photo's I had to freeze frame some video as he is rather camera shy ;)

After adding him to my 4ft 400l tank he is MUCH happier to say the least.

    My questions are:

Can I get his fins to grow back and scales to regenerate?
And, If so, how can I do this?

Many Thanks for any advice! :)

Nixxon - I am not even sure if this poor fish will survive!

If it eats at least, then you can add some marine multi-vitamins and freshly crushed garlic to the food..... Good luck with this poor fish.

It is severely beat up, and severely under-nourished! I really hope that the fish will pull through!

    Thanks Jacques...

    Just some more info :)
I have had him for a couple weeks now and he is eating quite a lot every day... and having said that, I was giving him his own little sheet of seaweed and mixing that up with flakes on alternate days but when I was adding meat for the others like Brine Shrimp, Kriel, Blood Worm, etc... he eats that too! :) LOL

So I don't think eating is gonna be a problem and he is also very very active and seem very happy... According to the guy who owned him previously he has been like this for about a year :nono: Don't know how true that is though... So it doesn't seem to bother him to much. Just figured I would try and get him back to his former glory.

He might heal up seeing that he's eating well, just give him the right foods and a stress free environment with good water parameters. Good on you for trying to save him ;)

    Thank Guys :)

I do have some Vitamin C and Garlic Drops for medicating... but the directions say I should add the drops to the water at a dose per liter, etc... Would it be better just to add a couple drops onto the food before putting it in the tank? Lesser dosage but more concentrated?

I have checked more recent video and his scales seem to have improved... will try and get some more pics up but the video is with the moon light on so over the weekend I will take some more pics if I can and post them up...

Will keep you all posted on progress :)

@Dallasg, I have been meaning to ask you... does Dallasg stand for Dallas Goldswain? And thanks bud... could you suggest the most effective vitamins to use in this case?

    Hi Guys,

Managed to get these two pics that I spoke of from the video taken more recently... The pics aren't that clear because its under the moon light... but I think you can notice a difference in the scales?

Anyways, will still get some better pics over the weekend and post then :)

Hello Nixxon if ya searching for cheap easily available vitamins, very easy, go to a drug store/Pharmacy( watever the name) and ask the pharmacist or vendor for hydrasol polyvitamin. Normally its a medecine/drug for babies in lack of vitamines. I personally use them. Add a few drops to the flakes, pellets or waterver, let them mix well(soak it), and then give to the little baby.;) That should work! Hope it helps!

Thanks Mauritius! I guess I am stopping by the pharmacy on my way home ;)
I take it then I am going to have to feed him separately? Or will the rest of the tank also benefit from this?

    Thanks!

Well certainly, u should feed they other little guys also, they too would benefit don't put too much, 8-10 drops. that should work. Well I learned this idea from an old guy. He bought a Gem tang at my small shop, after 1 month, there were some colour fading on the Gem, I asked him the reason. He said lack of vitamins. He removed the the small bottle of polyvitamin, fed the Gem, for 1 week or so. After 1 week. Gem was looking handsome:p. U can also continue with garlic.;)
