Have you seen the movie, The Cove?

It's a movie created by Ric O'Barry, Louise Psihoyos and Fisher Stevens. It's about how they exposed the Japanese slauthering dolphins.

The Japanese are allowed to slaughter 19 000 dolphins every year.

Did you know that dolphins are the only animal that have saved humans?

I watched this on Oprah last night, SA is a few months behind. I could not believe what I had seen, this world is being destroyed and it does not seem to both many people, I am planning a family and after watching this I’m very worried about the world that my kids will grow up in.

Dolphins are some of the most intelligent and compassionate beings on this planet. We call on the World Leaders to protect them by making sure their ritual, brutal slaughter stops completely. We also call on the World Leaders to discontinue any action that further pollutes the worlds oceans with Mercury, which is known to be both detrimental to dolphins and any human who eats seafood or swims in the ocean. As a native of Hawaii, President Obama might take special consideration to this.

Until "The Cove", I was unaware of the prevalence of these atrocities...this dolphin slaughter/ toxicity of mercury levels in fish that we ALL consume affects every human being on this planet. And, we are all culpable. Shut down the Taiji slaughter lagoon now!!

It is shocking to me just how destructive human arrogance and stupidity can be. People should be made aware of this kind of whole scale slaughter. And it should be stopped immediately. Every creature on this planet has a fundamental right to live.

The slaughter of these beautiful gentle dolphins is a crime against nature and against the moral value that Japan claims to hold so high! Anyone who is capable of killing these beautiful animals have no heart or soul let alone moral values. The whole of Japan need to be made aware of what is being done here, they are being lied to and the truth covered up and hidden away. STOP THE KILLING OF DOLPHINS, they are not only killing mother earth with this senseless saughter of it beautiful animals they are robbing future generations of witnessing the marvel and wonder of these intellegent animals. SAVE JAPAN'S DOLPHINS NOW!!!!!

I don't want to start an argument like the one about the sea Shepard but if you are really so concerned then you should also be against our whole hobby. Have you ever thought how much damage we are causing by supporting the harvesting of coral reefs and their fishes.

Not really. Go see a shipment of fish when your local pet shop gets them, try see a Sri Lanka shipment or indonesia and then you might give up the hobby.

Gives new meaning to the red sea. Just joking, I'll sign the petition but I'm just saying that you are also supporting a cause that leads to the destruction of marine life.

I am appalled and devestated and what I saw on the Oprah Show. I cried for an hour and am still crying. What is it about these Asian countries that they have these most babaric customs. Dolphins, whales, cats, dogs. You make me sick to my stomach and I will never go to your countries EVER. I also do NOT buy any Chinese products on principle and to make a statement. I was not aware that Japan are now no better than China. Rot in hell the lot of you. You are not human but a sub human species.

Everyone is getting kind of racist about this. Japs might eat all these weird things but it is their culture. We probably eat a whole lot more cows than them and no one is complaining about us all killing cows. Maybe some Asian members can comment?
