    Hi guys

Would anyone be able to get hold of one of these for me?

I know they difficult to find and quite expensive but i'm willing to take a gamble if the price doesn't kill me!

    It's a Sargassum Trigger

Quite rare and quite beautiful. It's supposed to be as well behaved and reef safe as a Crosshatch Trigger

    Anyone have some contacts?

    Thanks

Yip marlin as yuri said, when Im down there we can chat

BTW you are correct one of the least aggressive species, does however (like all triggers) require a lot of open swimming space

200 dollars with importation costs and exchange considering the factor that LFS in SA use to get a SP is about R4000 to R5000?

I think all of the above are beautiful! I like the sargassum just because of its difference to other fish in its coulouring and shape. Especially the white with spots and blue markings on the throat.

My only concern is that apparently the juveniles have the ability to mildly change colour according to thier enviroment which could mean they not white but a pale green. This is the case if my source of info is correct.

Do you know if the males are more beautiful than the females like the blue throughts?

Regardless of the above i am pretty sure that if the price isnt more than a cross hatch that i would take a plange and get one:)

What size trigger are you ordering and what size you think is the best to get, considering acclimitisation etc?

of the Xanthichthys the Sargassum is said to be the worst at adapting to captivity. why i am not certain but it might be worth finding out.

one of the reasons I have so much LR in at the moment is to create a habitat to allow fish to hide and acclimatise better. I will take some LR out laterm but fish like triggers and some of the angels enjoy a full reef to hide in, especially to start with.

martin will you send me any info you have on the Sargassum as I am not sure which trigger i want to go for :)
