Would have been nice if the link on
    ACT 36 “WHITE PAPER”
Should you need more info on the
    recent Act 36, “Regulations Relating
to Farm Feeds”, visit the link
Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

takes you to the actual article. And not their home page.

    Very disappointing. IMO

    Sweet nothing about Ornamental marines.

Where is the update about marine ornamental import permits?
Where is the update about the proposed gauteng legislation?
Where is the update on the white and black plant list?

    All hush hush ...?

I am going to ask the chairman from SAPTA to clarify and explain this statement from the report.

"The pet trade has seen many new positive changes been tabled at meetings with government and the new plant import permits have been issued to approved livestock importers, thus bringing new and fantastic plants to our shores."

Why were all SAPTA members not informed of that they could be approved and the process to do so? Either SAPTA had nothing to do with the changes and had no right in claiming so in the report or they failed in obligation to inform all members.

I sincerely hope that SAPTA do not dictate who can get the new import permits as this will amount to a cartel and exclude the people in preference to business. In other words forcing membership to SAPTA and or toeing the line to SAPTA's fiddle.

I will fight against this if it is the case.

Yes this is SAPTA business. Should it be open to all. Well it eventually concern all.

What worries me and yes i have raised the issue with the chairman, is that the shop training on keeping plants is being done by a guy who's whole business in the trade revolves around planted tanks....

well this sums it up for me, always ulterior motives, well i am on yourside to remove SAPTA, maybe we should have a SAMKC, South African Marine Keepers Council

this Chairman sounds like he has conflict of interest
