Sandstone ???

    Hi guys, my friend brought me a piece of very porous, light coloured, rock from mosselbay, on the beach, some say its sandstone, can i use sandstone in marine tank, what is the way to cure it, does anybody have some info please

    Please have a look at the thread rock and sand in a reefers world..... that will give you a good idea about what is going on

    also please post a pic of the rock so that i can confirm it is sandstone

    and if its a hartd shiny stone that scratches glass, give it to neil, he will use that too :)

    only for research use of course .... and remember if it is large, has a slight blue tinge, and is crystal clear, and scratches glass it is absolutely worthless and best in the hands of a geologist !

    Sorry to hijack, I just asked this on riaanp's thread - I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that removal of rock is illegal?

    If I understand correctly live rock out of the sea is illegal to collect, but normal dead sandstone is ok?? :1hmm:
