    hey there
i have recntly started my dsb and got some sea sand from a friend who visited mozambique. he said to me that something bit him while he was busy getting the sand.
never the less i added the sand to my dsb and later that day i noticed what looked like small sand lice. small black specks that climbes onto the sides.
can it be and can this be good or bad.
    help will be appreciated
    thanx

What is the reason you are using sand from Mozambique?
    Also post some pics please.

in the first place, we live far from the sea and they were the first people i knew that went to the big blue.
secondly being mozambique i figured there would be far less pollution than at our local beaches.

No problem pal, just wondering if there is any relation to the specific sand and its origin. I dont use our local sand personal preference - way too much pollution and the possibility of introducing parasites that the fishies cannot cope with.

Questioon, are u using NSW or synthetic salt?
What type of bacteria are you dosing?
    Im also tagging along...

    Nothing wrong with cycle.
A more experienced reefer needs to ID the critters, We need input from more experienced reefers.
    Please post a pic
