I personally would not add food.

    Just the bacteria for now.

    Just a Question...

The cycle is finished with its first week.I added biodigest and bioptim on day 1 to get the bacteria established.I'm also doing a week of Stability.I added a pinch of food as well to help the ammonia on.I tested last night and I thought i would see some ammonia spike or nitrite spike after a week.

    Ammonia 0
    Nitrite 0

Only guess is that there are enough bacteria to break down evertything. Will do another test sunday to see if there are any changes.

anyone with some input to share?

SaltyG - don’t run a skimmer during the cycle, it might skim out some of the bacteria. When I cycled my tank, the was no ammonia detectable until about week number four. I did start of with dead rock and sand, so what is in the tank will definitely influence the tests that you are doing.

Add some more food. Also agree with Dot Dash- turn off the skimmer for now.

The cycle is only complete when you see a amoniak spike....then nitrite....then nitrate....seeing nothing doesnt mean cycle is complete

Thanks.Added another el cheapo powerhead giving the tank a total of 40 times turnover a hour.Return pump around 4000l/h, one powerhead doing 2000l/h and the latest one doing 4000l/h.

Total 10 000l/h on a tank volume of around 250 liters
