    Hi all.

    Stupid beginner question.

If one take RO water which has a ph near neutral and add the salt to it, does the ph also raise to the desired range or does it stay near 7? Does it depend on the brand of salt used?

Cant decide to make it easy and buy pre mixed water or mix it myself? Has anyone done a cost analysis lately?

    Regards

Depends on brand of salt. Some salt brands have high phosphate levels, others don't. Same with trace elements, they all differ. Some have high magnesium levels, other again with low levels.

So there are salt, and then there are salt.

And depending on your system. If a nano then it is better to buy mixed salt. If 250L or above then a RO unit will pay for itself. Problem with buying mixed salt is that you get the cheapest brand.
