Does anyone use normal garden hose as part of their mixing station?

I am thinking of using this, about 10 metres, to transport salt water from my mixing station to the tank. The clear 20mm tubing is very expensive.

Any ideas or caution?

Thank you.

I am sure some will caution against it.

That said, I am using the exact same length and purpose you described. Approx 10m from mixing station to tank for transport of the water. I accept any potential risks (if any) seeing as it is minimal contact time during the pumping. I pump a little bit of RO through the length after pushing salt water through it just as sort of a rinse in the pipe.

No ill effects thus far but have only been using this setup for about a month now.

I don't see that it can cause any issues as it is all plastic. I would suggest using a brand-new pipe than one that has been used. The only thing that I think that may be a problem is life time of the transport pipe.

Cool, thanks for the feedback so far. I also thought that it should be fine since it will only be in contact with the pipe for about a couple of minutes. I bought a new hose, just to be sure.
