    Hi guys

I'm having a lot of water evaporation and I'm topping up with RO water, but there is still a lot of salt floating on the top of the water

    My salinity is 1024

I'm moved one of my powerheads to the top to circulate, was this a good idea

Surface agitation is always a good idea.

Possibly lack of movement / flow in the tank. Not sure.

What is result of moving the powerhead to the surface?

I moved my powerhead as low as I could on the back lower left wall of my tank pointing up towards the middle of the tank just to get some movement.

Salt floating on top of the water? Salt should sink in water

Are you sure its salt crystals and not just foam?

I moved one of my powerheads right to the top of the tank, to try and dissolve the salt but now I noticed that the stuff on top of the water is also has some sort of a oil base which is not dissolving.

I'm feeding my corals phytchorom bright well aquatic and I just added special blend yesterday could any of these products be causing this

Well I use Special Blend and I dont get an oily residue floating on my surface :)

Why do you feed your corals? Do you not have any fish in the tank?
