just a general question regarding the above .... or example my sump water level sits at 200mm and with evaporation etc , its drops to 150mm ...

just say for arguments sake , i dnt top uo with ro water etc , but rather add more live rock or another coral to my tank and the water level again goes to 200mm !!! following so far ???? good !!!

would the salinity be lower or higher in that case / how wud the above affect salinity ???

Afsal your salinity would increase. By adding rock all you've done is displace water, in other words the rock is taken the space of the water. If you need to add anything you should get your water level right first and then siphon out the amount that you would take up with the displacement with any additions.

higher salinity, the change could b big if u have a small system, so keep checking

I agree with DR & Ed. Afsal make sure you get your salinity right before adding rocks or corals. Also remember that shrimps are extremely sensitive to salinity changes and could die as a of big changes in salinity.

by the way afsal.is this in your FOWLR system?

this is just a general question and have always wondered abt this and theres not place to come for help then to u guys !!!
