    Hi guys,

What is the best chemical filtration to use on a RSM250? Or what are you using?

    Currently I am using:

250ml Orca Nitra gaurd Bio cubes
    250ml Orca Phospa gaurd
    Purigen

    Cheers

I use the following in my RSM 250:

    Reactor with pellets (in DT)
Orca (with airstone) - next to skimmer
Carbon bag - next to skimmer

Removed sponges - its a Nitrate factory.

What reactor are you using and its obviously external?

Do any of you use that ceramic rings that you get with the system?

    JNS reactor

    I removed the ceramic rings.

In future - I will fit a reactor in compartment next to the skimmer in order for it not to be in the DT.

Note- there are other methods of filtering as well. Refer to "Tokolosh's" thread.

What do you guys think of using an external canister filter on the RSM250 ? I am thinking of buying one to run purigen, Orca titanium biocubes and extra medium. As a reef addict, I find my tank has become slightly overstocked.....

I think the best way to run Bio cubes is with the bomb method in a high flow area.
I have a canister filter , but don’t think it is necessary to run , yet.

I've put everything in the chamber next to the skimmer (left)

The problem I found with the canister filter was that I had to clean it like every 2nd week because all the crap it sucks up lays in the filter and eventually becomes a nitrate bomb...:)

500 ml biocubes in adjusted bomb (pvc pipe with airstone), 250 ml phosphaguard in two little fishies reactor which fits inside the back left chamber.
