RSM 130D skimmers

Does anybody know what types of skimmers(Available to buy in SA) that fit into the back chamber of the Red Sea Max 130D? I know the tunze 9002 has been discontinued.
 
Anita. Ive researched the 9004, apparently it
Doesnt fit into the back chamber.
 
@ricky, what is the problem with the standard skimmer? On my system that thing skims like a beast, just a bit noisy, but there are ways around that. From my research it seem it was only the tunze 9002 that compared, and that was really on the first gen 130's - the skimmer design was changed with the 130D. Compare the pump capacity on the existing skimmer vs any new ones before you make the change.

@Anita I think knowing for sure that it will fit would be better than it may fit.. Can someone confirm please. Also what is the price of this unit?

If you put the skimmer sideways, either the TUNZE 9001 (140 litres) or the 9004 (R2083.36)(250 litres) will fit, unless there is a lip.

@Wizard i dont think the skim is great on it. You reckon i should check the pump?

Taking the skimmer out is a bastard, but I would remove, check pump, and impeller, and air inlet tube for any blockages. How long have you had the system? What is the problem, too little skimmate? Maybe post pics of the current performance.
 
@Wizard.Here is a pic. As u can see no collection in the cup. Only on the skimmer walls.

Seems like it is skimming too thick - have you tired lowering the cup (by turning). Also remember that is has taken out all that gunk from your system, so it is doing its job. How often do you clean - is that just one days skimmate?
 
Yes, at the moment I cant even turn it down anymore, and the air valve is fully open. Not clogged either. I clean at least 3 times a week. I find it very temperamental, needing to adjust accordingly every day.
