    Hi all,

Pics as promised. All set up in my mancave (for suitably large values of "Set Up").

Tank is 1000x600x600. Odyssea T5 unit. Got two hailea return pumps running. No skimmer running yet, it was dropped during the move... :banghead:

I doth sump in abject squalor. :crying:

Yebo. The left hand side needs a bit more LR. I also need some stuff in the foreground to keep the substrate from blowing everywhere.

PS The pics with the starfish has the fleshy blob in the foreground. No idea what it is. The base and stalk are turning gray, I suspect there is some necrosis happening due to a crushing injury sustained during the move.

I'll keep an eye on it and frag it if necessary.

I'll post a separate thread on the poor thing. The inlet is cracked and the bottom part of the skimmer cup's foam tube shattered.

The body can be repaired, but not so sure about the tube, that might need replacing.

Looking nice there. Once everything has settled in properly and starts growing it's going to look even better.

Just one thing - I think that the starfish is a sand sifting star. There may not be enough gunk in the substrate for it to eat at the moment. I don't know much about them, but you may have to supplement feed it.

The substrate was dumped in a bucket and dumped right back in at my place after the tank was placed. I didn't wash it, but once the water was in I did give it a good blasting with a strong pump to get the worst of the muck out. There is still a lot of sediment in it but I'll keep this in mind. Thanks!

Haha the poor things are barely wet yet!

When my ship comes in I'll slowly convert it to mixed reef and then go full on stick tank if the mood strikes me.

Ouch that's got to hurt, is the skimmer repairable?

Body definitely. The cup is problematic. I collected most of the shards but I suspect if I glue it together, the foam will collapse around the rough edges and specially where there are missing bits.

    It's worth a try though.

I was f***ed off hey!

    But accidents happen.

All things considered I kept my cool remarkably well, which is rare for me :)

It was unfortunate but then a tank move isn't a tank move without SOMETHING going wrong.
