    Why dont you ask the public aquarium in Swakopmund. Im coming in March next year for fishing maybe I can swing by to check your tank out.

    put acid on it .... vinigar or pool acid... if it fizzes then you have carbonate present..... note that this does not mean the rock does not contain nasties such as phosphates

    The aquarium is closed for two years(they doing it over):thumbup:
    This is off topic, but I feel like sharing. After building the aquarium here in Swk they found out they where suppose to build it in Walvis Bay!:whistling:

    Nope, from a smallish town in the North of Namibia(Tsumeb)

    So I think I might leave it lying in the garage.

    some more pics would be helpful, im a geologist so should be able to id it for u, jus need more pics and did u find it near a beach?

    It looks a lot like Tsumeb Rock : :whistling: :p

    Looks like karstic limestone to me. If you using it for aquascaping just wash it well and all should be fine.
