HI there, i want to find something out ...

I am using a RO unit to make RO water .. DUH ...

my question is, my water usage multiplied by 8 about.

In the last year, i used 7000L per month ... this month, i am at 50 000, and this month i used it alot.

I am sure i dont have a water leak somewhere ... I am not showering less or more lol ...

All i am trying to say, i think it is currently cheaper to buy RO than to make it !

    :(

If i give stats on my water usage before and after the RO unit, it is wow.

    But it cant go from 6K L to 50K L ... really !

that are shocking. or else the meter are totally broken, which i doubt.

My house were standing empty for almost a year, and therefore no water usage. We have been living here for a couple of months (8) and they never took a meter reading, and when they finally took one 2 months ago, the statement said we used 500 000l of water. Didn't sound right to me either!!

I've just filled my new tank and got 1litre of RO water for 2litre of waste.

Easy to meassure, Just put the waste line in a big drum. Can even use your municipal rubbish bin. I think its 240L. And see how mush waste you produce, I meant your RO unit produce for every 20L.

Else, you got a leak. 50K is a lot. And I'm sure, living in Centurion, one of the days we have a new sink hole.

About the leak theory, i watched the meter for 24 hours, and it didnt increase at all. If I shower or use water, i can see it move (increase).

I even monitored it for 72 hours ...

How do you check the meter while you shower? Run out naked? Yikes, do not want to be your neighbour.

Anyway, just put the waste line in the rubbish bin.

It is because they use an average meter reading and every now and then they actually do some work and read you meter. They then bill you for all the water you used over the average.
