    Hey Masa
I bought a 2nd hand waterboy ro unit from a member on the forum my question is which is the waste and which is the ro water
The way I connected it the waste is alot of water passing through it and the pipe I thought was ro is just dripping is this correct or should I swop the pipes around?

Your waste water will come from a pipe that leaves your RO membrane and your ro water will come from your resin chamber.

Yes it is a very slow flow rate, most likely around 100 - 200 litres per day, if not less and dependent on the model you have.

Yes. As you fill with RO water, there will be waste that will be expelled at the same time. To flush your unit. Keep your RO valve closed and leave your waste valve open.

probably also depends on the water pressure coming from your tap..

If this is a flow restrictor it should only be open when flushing the membranes, otherwise it should be closed!
    Pics will provide better answers

The pipe with the valve on is the waste pipe coming from the filmtec membrane

That should be closed! You will see a dramatic increase in ro production, only open that valve when you flushing the membranes. Say 1min every week

Have you check results with the valve closed?

Yes a little faster but not much. Might be the wster pressure on the main line as the air valve on the municipal side is not working and we have a lot of air in our house

firtly the resin looks to me like its shot, should be brown
that unit if working correctly will fill 25 litres in about 2 hours (it makes 190 litres per 24 hours) - 50 gpd

you incomming pressure should be about 4 bar

if after all of that your flow is still less....then you got nailed with a unit with a exhausted membrane

changing the membrane, resin and pre-filters will cost you R650.00 plus vat

buying second hand units is high risk, cause you dont know how long they ran for or what water passed through the membranes

if you want a schematic on how to connect unit up
