RO Stages/Filters.

    Hi Guys

    I will like to now what is your guys and girls answers/input on RO units.
    Wat will the ideal 5 or 6 stages/filters be on a Ro unit. :p

    I just got my Reef master setup + additional resin filter from Marco. have a TDS of absolute 0, where as the LFS water is ~45 and that of a friends unit is around 15.

    Water purification is his business, stick to the professionals I say :)

    I have a 4 stage unit.

    Sediment Filter >> Carbon Filter >> Membrane >> DI Resin >> fish tank. :)

    perfect set-up, the way it should be, you DI resin last and your water drinking before that.

    I have the same setup that gives me a TDS of 0. Was getting a TDS of around 7 until I put on the DI resin pod.

    That's what I was looking for.

    If one will go for 5 or 6 satges what will the other 2 be.

    I was thinking at something like this.

    (Stage 1) 5 Micron Sediment Filter
    (Stage 2) Carbon Block Filter
    (Stage 3) 1 Micron Sediment Filter
    (Stage 4) Reverse Osmosis Membrane
    (Stage 5) Post Carbon filter
    (Stage 6) DI Resin filter

    a waste of money:tt2:

    4 stages is all you will need for marine application.....
    5 stages you can add a buffer to buffer up the ph of the r.o.water

    buy 4 stages that is more than enough

    remember ...more stages...of the same stuff = more money to replace when servicing

    (Stage 2) Carbon Block Filter
    (Stage 3) Reverse Osmosis Membrane
    (Stage 4) DI Resin filter

    If your water is very hard or you are using borehole water then add a few sediment filters prior to stage one. It will save your membrane.
