I just got my Reef master setup + additional resin filter from Marco. have a TDS of absolute 0, where as the LFS water is ~45 and that of a friends unit is around 15.

Water purification is his business, stick to the professionals I say :)

    I have a 4 stage unit.

Sediment Filter >> Carbon Filter >> Membrane >> DI Resin >> fish tank. :)

perfect set-up, the way it should be, you DI resin last and your water drinking before that.

I have the same setup that gives me a TDS of 0. Was getting a TDS of around 7 until I put on the DI resin pod.

I was thinking at something like this.

(Stage 1) 5 Micron Sediment Filter
    (Stage 2) Carbon Block Filter
(Stage 3) 1 Micron Sediment Filter
    (Stage 4) Reverse Osmosis Membrane
    (Stage 5) Post Carbon filter
    (Stage 6) DI Resin filter

    a waste of money:tt2:

4 stages is all you will need for marine application.....
5 stages you can add a buffer to buffer up the ph of the r.o.water

buy 4 stages that is more than enough

remember ...more stages...of the same stuff = more money to replace when servicing

    (Stage 2) Carbon Block Filter
    (Stage 3) Reverse Osmosis Membrane
    (Stage 4) DI Resin filter
    (Stage 5) ??????????:blush::blush:

If your water is very hard or you are using borehole water then add a few sediment filters prior to stage one. It will save your membrane.
