My maid decided to top up my RO reserve tank but used the waste water from the RO unit. Only discovered this when I had a serious GHA outbreak. If I clean the glass in the morning , it is completely green by the night.

Is there a solution to counter this mishap.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

How long have you been topping up with the waste water?

Keep your lights off and do a few large water changes over the next few days. If you keep lights on then the excess nutrients are just going to be absorbed by the algae and stay in your system.

Sorry to hear that man. do consecutive water changes till your parameters are back to normal. Just be careful not to do to big changes as this could upset your tank even more.

I dont let anyone near my tank with anything but their eyes. If there is a mistake made i am the one to blame and at least i know what mistakes have been "maid" ;). Just my 2 cents. Hope you are able to sort out your tank.

No Problem. Just like a cloudy few days out on the reef.
