    Hello all.
I just want to hear your view on RO/DI units. Would any recommend a single unit like from The water boy or would you install a 7 stage for home use aswell. What is the water quality on a 7 stage unit when use for marine purposes.

Hello Dallas, not sure which RO unit you have, this one has a alkaline filter pack which raises your RO water PH slightly , would you recommend this or not.

If you are going to use a RO unit, the home use ones have a bioball which is not good for your tank. You will need one that comes from a reputable dealer.

All you need for RO systems for marine tanks giving you 0 TDS are the following:

    4 required stages:

    10" 5 micron Sediment Filter
    10" Sintered Carbon Block
50/75/100 GPD RO Membrane (I would insist on DOW Filmtec)
De-Ionizing Resin (Color Changing great if you have a clear DI Resin Chamber

The above is the basics that you should get. The complete unit will have all the housings to fit the various stages.

There are many more addons, like pressure gauges, inline TDS meters and RO Auto shutoff kits, flush values - All not a necessity but nice to have.

    Hope this helps.
