    Hi

I want to add a booster pump to my RO unit, but how does one control turning it on and off? Is it flow controlled?

Hey boet get yourself a reef angel, controlling all items are endless.... Going to use my normal reef angel board after upgrading to the plus board for more memory, basic board can control some house equipments like lights, remote gate, sprinklers, cameras and so on...

you will need a solinoid valve "24volt", a transformer "24 volt" and a float switch , connect these up so the float switch cuts power to the transfomer to isolate power and water flow through solinoid

or a solinoid, "24 volt" high and low pressure switch and a manual float and trasformer.
wire these up and should pressure drop if no water comes in, pump shuts down, should pressure increase as float goes up and fulls reservoir, solinoid closes and pump shuts down.

24 volts is used cause r.o.pumps are 24 volts thus easier to run one transformer to automate a few of the components;)

ask the right people and get the right anwser:tt2:

i recommend this gets done with a electric float, the ca cannister might not be able to handle the pressure even with a pressure valve...its not designed to hold more than 2 bar, the rest of the unit can take 4 to 5 bar.

so id reccomend either changing the ca housing or doing it with electric float, solenoid and pump.
