RO and Distiled water

    Is RO WATER the same as distilled water ?

    No. In short they have more ore less the same end effect (removing dissolved solids) but distallation does this via boiling & RO via pushing the water through a membrane.

    The problem is because distilled water is almost devoid of minerals (more so than RO) it will ionize minerals in your tank (especially Ca) , thus robbing your tank of them.

    Rather go with RO

    If it's anything to go by, According to what I've been told the guys use RO water with very low TDS. Now typically 5mg/l Ca is found in these. Distilled water, for arguments sake has 0. That's not really going to make much of a difference in terms of "robbing your tank of" minerals is it?

    Distilled water is going to cost you more, with very limited added upside to using it though.
