My rics throw out this cloud of mucus stuff into the tank every now and then.

What could it be? Are they trying to reproduce or are they expelling waste.

These guys are getting quite big, some are more than 120mm across when fully expanded.

My guess would be expelling waste.

Yes Kevin - all mushrooms are family of the anemone's - they are indeed expelling waste. They only have ONE hole to ingest, and expel the food.... ;)

They are getting big, too big actually and they are not the best looking rics arround, so they probably will go to the sump when it is complete. I had a few small ones which seemed to appear out of nowhere floating arround the tank, so I stuck them to a piece of rock and they are growing quite well.

This is a pic I took a few months ago. Since then they have changed colour, to a dull green/red. I suppose it depends where in the tank they are located. The one right in front has doubled in size!

Sorry to say this mate, but those are not ricordea yuma or ricordea florida. Those look like rhodactis mushrooms...

They are mushrooms, they're Rhodactis Mushrooms and they tend to get quite big.
