ricordea Splitting

    Well as you can see what i think is a ricordea starting growing from nothing on my live rock. take a look at it. is it splitting or something??

    Problem is i don't see amouth both on the 2 parts that are breaking up.

    Bud i do not think it is a ric. If they have just started growing on your LR they are most likely Aiptasia or majano's. Any chance of a close up pic.

    From the pic the tentacles look a little to long for a shroom.

    I also googled the pics and they dont look like that. uts all bunch up from the splitting but normally lays flat

    Ok, well you'll know for sure after a while. If it starts splitting and splitting and spreading like wildfire then it's probably a pest. I'm all for waiting it out to see for sure.

    Do a google image search for hairy mushroom, see if it looks like any of those.

    Yeah, lol, if it's not snow it's dust.

    Cool, they are called Rhodactis something or other :p I have green ones, they pretty cool, one of my clowns used to venture into it quite a lot, it got quite big, probably about 10cm in diameter then split and I now have 3.
