    cheapest flow pumps.
    SunSun.

If you add a bit extra, get the magnet mounts at some point. Their suckers fail after a year.

    What corals do you have?

I have nothing in the tank yet, just getting my equipment first.
But I plan to stick to some softies like mushrooms, polyps, zoa etc... MAYBE xenia

And return pump... what should I go for? Looking at at least a 4000L/H

Cheap and nasty, but they sure do the job for under R200! I had mine for 2 years before they started leaking current. Decent flow too.

If you have a bit more cash maybe try those new Jeboa WP range of DC pumps (about R1200 for the WP25, but depends on the model).

I don't have one, but I haven't heard any bad reviews...

I'm drawn to DLSB and some LR.
    Sump is 3ft x 40cm wide

on 40cm wide, a pump that delivers at least 2700L/h back into the display is needed for a DSB setup.

Think the 4000L/h would be OK

If you want cheap cheap. Go for SunSun

Next up Seio. Some descend flow pumps.

If you want cheap, but must be controllable, go for the Jeboa WP25. Or even the top of the line Seio with the remote.

If you want better quality, go for Tunze.

Top line, Vortech. But OK, you want cheap and Vortech is not cheap.

For your tank, I would get 4 SunSun 3000, or 3 SunSun 5000 L/h pumps. Get the magnet mounts later. When these fail after a year, and you are still in this hobby. Then upgrade to better quality pumps. If not enough flow, you can always add another SunSun. So for under R1000, you can have more than enough flow.
