Return pump adequate or not

    hi guys,was goin to use a Eheim 1262 as a return pump but instead got a Eheim 1250:(.Will this pump be ok,my tank is 1.5mx600mmx600mm and the height of my stand is 1m.spec of 1250 is 1200l/h,2m head,28w

    It will do for now, as long as you have adequate flow through your powerheads in your tank it won't cause major problems, but i would say you need a larger pump long term.

    i am gonna have 2 Seio m1500 in tank,should i get more or just get the Eheim 1262 as originally planned

    M1500 = 6000l/ph right? i think so, so 6000 x 2 = 12,000lph / 500lts (your tank volume) = 24 times turnover, a bit low, perhaps a smaller powerhead directed low behind the liverock, while the 2 seios point from the top rear corners to the diagonally opposite front corners should give you a good flow in the tank.

    i would say increase. maybe add another two M1500s or two more M1100s, depending on what you want to keep. But that should sort you out. I think you would need to up the return to about 1800lph or 2000lph. then it should be sufficient

    thanks guys,will be getting the Eheim 1262 and 1 more Seio m1500,the Eheim 1250 will be for sale:wave2:

    No, if you can rather keep it. If something happens to your return pump then you have a spare ;)

    i would like to keep it but need to cover up for the 1262 pump
