Hi guys
This is my second attempt at retrofitting the hood the first time the hood became to hot. So now I have cut two holes in and will fit dc boxer fans, one to blow the other to suck. Here is pic 1:

The drip tray is empty and needs to be removed and replaced by another lighting hood. It has to be as nice as the current one.
Edit: The fans are not in yet as well as the 5t`s, they will go in today.

Nice one Tom :D

Can you take a pic of the actual lamps ?

I want to have a closed hood for the drip tray side as well. Just incase the Hawk fish wants to go flying ;). Today I will post pics of the t5`s going in, at the moment I will just use two t5`s and two t8`s (one atinic t8).
My tank is currently used to two white t8 and one atinic t8.

Top pic is the first try at using the t5`s. Thanks Rory.
The bottom is a closeup of the fan cover. It still does not have the fan in, I have a space issue that has to be sorted because I want to recess the fans.

I only see the first pic. Those are nice looking fans. It appears they are recessed. Is your tank on the tank tour? I would like to see it.

Does this hood come with the perspex to cover the tubes ???

LOL the main fans were too big so I pimped my hood with pc cooler fans with blue hi bright leds, here is the closed hood with lights on.

Excellent work Tom. Love seeing how far apart something can be stripped
Bummer about the noisy fan.

Thanks Guys! Eish its been difficult working without my brain Kanga LOL :)
Anyway for the supply I am using a HP printer supply, finally a use for all these scrap printers. The volts were a tad high so i put the fans in series and the grumpy one has calmed down ;) .
I ran the hood without fans for a hour and when I put the fans on the air temp was 35 deg C Aargh! so I need them fans.

The reaction of the corals has been immediate :) check out the one on the left and the frogspawn:
