i dont know of anything safe to use on the inside, but the outside one can use brasso and a polishing mit.
but like all things DIY, test on a small area first

I posted a thing on polishing glass about a year or so ago. Think it was on the thread of the member that bought a tank that was scratched. Cant find it as "my posts" history dont go back that far.:(

Forgive my ignorance but how does the viewing glass or any side of the tank get scratches? Is it from using the magnet cleaners or the blades?

Also how do you guys clean the bottom part of the glass(just above the sand level) was wondering the other day if sand cant get in between the magnet cleaner when cleaning down there and cause scratches, and no I don't have a tank YET.

Don't mean to hijack if it looks like I am.

No ut's fine, no hijack. The glass can get scratched in allot of ways, not looking where your putting your live rock. Sand in magnet cleaner like you said and almost any way you can think of. I normally don't clean with the magnet to close to the sand and rather clean the sand part with that 1in5 cleaning sticks.

What is a 1 in 5 cleaning stick, and where do you get it from?.
I would be scared to use Brasso because of the fumes (ammonia, I think) Is Brasso what most people use.

Most pet shops sell them. They're just a pvc rod and at the end is a head attachement with a plastic blade helping to get of nuisence hard algae and with on the head is a like those dishwashing sponges the one side the green part and the other the sponge. There is also at the other part of the rod an fork type thing helping to plant something in substrate (guessing freshwater use:p)
